Slab leaks from soil movement
Why it happens here
The clay soil in Sherman Oaks expands and contracts with changes in moisture. This movement cracks slabs and shears the pipes running through them. Older homes with copper pipes are especially vulnerable. The leak is often hidden until you see warm spots or a high water bill.
Our approach
We use hydrostatic pressure test kits to confirm the leak. Then we use acoustic listening equipment and thermal imaging to pinpoint the break. We repair the pipe with minimal disruption and dry the slab cavity with floor drying mat systems.
